Spice Market (Egyptian market)

Spice market is a L shape building in Eminonu district of Istanbul. The market is a part of complex of New Mosque. There is a belief that the original name of the market was new market. But the spices sold in the market used to come here via Egypt  so people prefered to call it Egyptian market. But now it is mostly called Spice market because many kind of spices are sold. Spices, herbs, Turkish delights, dried fruit, nuts are the most popular goods sold in the market. Near the market there is New Mosque. Rustem Pahsa Mosque is also so close to market.
